It may contain such information as your current goals, plans for your professional career, and reasons for selecting field of study. Recommendation Letter: These letters should be from individuals familiar with your ability to do scholarly work. If you are not currently in school, a letter from a non-academic employer may be included as one of the three letters, but prospective students should be aware that such letters are usually less valuable to the Admissions Committee.
